Job Description:

FORTEK is looking for a dynamic resource of Engineering in IT Facilities (Data Centers). The resource should be an Engineer with 5 years of technical experience in deployment of IT infrastructure. Preference should be given to candidates with certification. As a Post Sales Engineer, the candidate shall ensure successful execution and sign-off of the SOW document for any assigned activity or SLA.

Job Requirements

  • Key Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, IT or Business field.  OR
    • Graduate

    ·        Data Center Standards Certifications (CDCP, CTDC, CDCS/CDCE)

    ·        Communication, presentation, project management, and reporting experience

    ·        Knowledge of medium and low voltage, mission critical power distribution and generator power systems

    ·        Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards

    ·        Cross-discipline knowledge of critical facility systems

    ·        Troubleshooting and analytical experience

    ·        Experience in load management at the operations level within a critical facility

    ·        Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and other design software.

    ·        Knowledge of SLDs both High and low level

    ·        Knowledge of conductor sizes with respect to Load and its standards

    ·        Knowledge of Different equipment manufacturers and service providers (related to Electrical Domain)


    Required experience:

    5-8 years of progressive electrical engineering related experience

Duties & Responsibilities


  • 1. Project Planning & Execution

    • Lead end-to-end electrical and infrastructure projects from design, procurement, and installation to testing and handover.

    • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and budget in coordination with internal teams and stakeholders.

    • Ensure on-time, within-budget delivery with full compliance to quality and safety standards.

    • Prepare work schedules, resource allocation plans, and commissioning strategies.

    2. Infrastructure & Technical Oversight

    • Manage deployment and integration of electrical systems including LV Panels, MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, UPS, PDUs, ATS, Generators, and synchronization panels.

    • Oversee associated MEP, HVAC, Fire Detection & Suppression, BMS/SCADA, and Access Control systems relevant to Data Center operations.

    • Review design drawings, shop drawings, SLDs, and verify installations as per engineering standards.

    • Ensure redundancy, scalability, and fault tolerance (2N/N+1) within electrical designs.

    3. Compliance & Quality Assurance

    • Ensure adherence to international and local standards: Uptime Institute, TIA-942, IEC, ISO, NFPA, and PEC codes.

    • Conduct FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing prior to commissioning.

    • Implement internal QA/QC checks and maintain accurate project documentation, inspection reports, and client handover records.

    • Support internal and external audits for QEHS and ISO certifications.

    4. Financial & Vendor Management

    • Prepare detailed BOQs, budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking reports for electrical works.

    • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure procurement aligns with technical and commercial requirements.

    • Monitor expenditures, verify invoices, and ensure compliance with organizational financial controls.

    5. Stakeholder & Client Management

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams regarding electrical project matters.

    • Conduct periodic review and coordination meetings, progress reporting, and risk analysis.

    • Manage client expectations and ensure technical alignment with agreed specifications.

    • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts, escalations, or site-related challenges.

    6. Team Leadership & Development

    • Supervise and guide engineers, technicians, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to safety and quality practices.

    • Conduct technical training sessions and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    7. Risk & Safety Management

    • Identify potential risks in electrical design or execution phases and develop mitigation strategies.

    • Ensure strict implementation of LOTO, PPE usage, and electrical safety protocols.

    • Participate in incident investigations and ensure preventive measures are adopted.

    8. Reporting & Documentation

    • Maintain updated progress reports, test results, inspection records, and maintenance documentation.

    • Submit daily activity summaries and highlight key issues or risks to the Manager – Electrical.

    • Ensure project documentation is properly archived for audit and client reference.

Reporting Responsibilities


  • Daily Tasks:
    • Own & Team’s Timesheets review & approval
    • Report on the daily progress of IT infrastructure setup and deployment activities.
    • Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges encountered during the setup phase.
    • Provide updates on the allocation and utilization of resources for various on-going tasks.
    • Collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to communicate real-time developments.
    • Perform daily quality checks to ensure that the setup aligns with predefined standards.

    Weekly Tasks:
    • Summarize the milestones achieved in the weekly setup and deployment plan.
    • Review resource allocation for the upcoming week to ensure efficiency.
    • Provide an overview of project expenditures in coming week and close the previous week's adjustments with Finance Dept.
    • Ensuring adherence to approved budgets
    • Communicate progress, challenges, and potential modifications (If any) to the setup plan to relevant stakeholders.
    • Identify and address any potential risks that may impact on the Project's deployment timeline.

    Monthly Tasks:
    • Overall Progress: Present a comprehensive overview of the monthly progress of the On-going Project.
    • Budget Analysis: Conduct a detailed analysis of monthly expenditure and propose adjustments if needed.
    • Continuous Improvement: Propose strategies for continuous improvement in the setup and deployment processes.
    • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to meet the overall Project & organizational goals.
